Kurdistan's Minister of Education Visits Sarwaran International School
On February 22, 2010, Sarwaran International School welcomed the Minister of Education, Mr. Safeen Dizayee. Greeted by students presenting flowers, Mr. Dizayee was given a warm welcome during his visit to the school, one of three SABIS® Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects in Kurdistan. Sarwaran International School, which serves children of martyrs, contributes to the PPP's mission of raising education standards in the public school system and rebuilding the nation by providing students a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and experiences.
While touring the campus, Mr. Dizayee observed students while in class. He commended the students for their motivation and ability to study three languages-English, Arabic, and Kurdish-at the same time. He also observed the high level of students' participation in various classes throughout the school, noting their enthusiastic attitude.
At the end of his visit, Mr. Dizayee praised and thanked the administration, teachers, and all others involved in the school for their efforts to provide a high-quality education and their commitment to make a difference in students' lives.
The Sarwaran International School is the third PPP school to operate in Kurdistan. The school opened its doors in September 2009 and serves students in Kindergarten through Grade 2. All three SABIS® PPP schools in Kurdistan draw on SABIS®'s expertise to improve education and develop world-class citizens who will become instrumental in shaping the region's future.
