SABIS® Students Participate in Chess Tournament

 

On Saturday, February 9, 2013, Grade 4 and 5 students from all SABIS®member schoolsin Kurdistan were invited to Sarwaran International School to participate in a chess tournament. Organized by SIS and Khanzad Chess Club, the tournament aimed to bring all SABIS®member school students together under one roof to improve their chess skills. At the end of the tournament, awards were distributed to four winners. Yousif Farhad from Sarwaran International School came in first; Sahand   ISC-Suleimaniah came in second; Omer Sidiq from Sarwaran International School came in third; and Zana Sherwan from Sardam International School came in fourth. All SABIS® students who attended received certificates for their effort and participation.

SABIS® schools have amazing chess players which made us greatly enjoy this interactive and exceptional tournament,” commented a member of Khanzad Chess Club.
