Sarwaran Students Host Kurdish Festival
On May 10, 2018 the SABIS Student Life Organization® prefects in Sarwaran International School, a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, held a Kurdish Festival for students in grades 5 to 10.
The festival started with the Kurdish national anthem. After they listened to the anthem the students sang and danced to Kurdish songs and recited Kurdish poems. After the performances, the Kurdish Folklore Tent was open for everyone to enjoy and eat traditional Kurdish food.
The purpose of this activity was for students to learn and explore their culture. It also proved to be a great way to remind students to be proud of their heritage. “We are very happy at this event, it is so nice,” said a student.
